A Successful First Day!

I am so proud of all the new first graders. What a great first day! There's a lot of teacher talk in the first few days, as there is so much  new to explain and show about our classroom and the routines. But, we did many fun activities throughout the day, both inside and outside of the classroom--it wasn't all just learning new routines! :-) I took a few photos when I had the opportunity today, which wasn't often. As I said, we were busy! Here are some of our first day photos in the form of an Animoto video. Now that I have all permission slips, this is the version with everyone included. :-)

Stay tuned for a post about our student teacher Miss Justine Dube! She is already such an integral part of our classroom, and I know your students will have a great semester with her (she will be with us through the end of November).

Open House

It was great to see many of you at Open House this morning. For those families who could not make it--and those who did--I created a quick video with iMovie. It's a 2-Minute Tour of our room. I am excited to see students in the room tomorrow! Please feel free to share this blog with friends and family near and far.

1st Grade is ALMOST HERE!

Wow! First grade is right around the corner! I hope that everyone has been enjoying this gorgeous last weekend of the summer before school begins. I was hard at work in the classroom last week, and it's all set and ready for students to arrive. Remember, Open House is Tuesday, August 28th, from 8:00-9:00 a.m. Please stop by and say hello and tour the classroom. School begins on Wednesday, August 29th. Yippee!

(I realize some names are printed larger than others in this image--this was a randomly generated piece of "word art." The sizes, colors, and fonts are random. Pretty neat, in my opinion!)
