Leprechaun Pudding!

We had a fun St. Patrick's Day surprise on Monday afternoon when we made Leprechaun Pudding! Not only was this activity enjoyable, but it was also a nice connection to our current procedural (how-to) unit of study in writing. We followed directions to make the special treat. It was also a great connection to our new science unit about Solids and Liquids. The pudding (which is actually pistachio flavored) was magical because it started out a very light green powder and then when milk was added and shaken with the powder, gold flecks (pistachios) appeared in the pudding--the leprechaun's gold! It was fun to make, but only about half the class actually enjoyed eating it. (But everyone tried it--hooray!)
