Computer time

I have been working hard to connect students with games/activities online that will help boost their skills in literacy and math. This is, of course, supplemental to what is being directly taught in the classroom. On the left hand side of the blog, you may have noticed the heading, "Links to use at School." Students use our blog at school to access these links. I am working on differentiating the games/activities that students access so that they are always working on skills according to interest and/or readiness level. This is a work-in-progress, so keep checking back for updates.

These students are using the Math BINGO game on abcya.com. Students practice basis math facts and move up in levels according to how many answers are correct/incorrect. Knowing math facts "in a snap" is something we will be working hard on especially during the second and third trimesters.
The photos below were taken in the computer lab. Our school has access to the Everyday Math computer games that align with our Everyday Math curriculum. On Friday, everyone visited the lab together during our math time to practice games of their choice, all of which practice important math skills for first grade students. These games are not included in the links on the left-hand side of this page, as they are not available online.
