Songs help us learn!

We sing a lot in first grade. Some songs are just for fun and can help with transition times, such as cleaning up after snack or choice time and meeting on the rug for a lesson. Some songs are linked to a skill or subject area, such as our current favorite, "Exercise and Count by 5s." Some songs like the "Cha Cha Slide," "Down in the Valley" and "My Bonny" are excellent for a Morning Meeting activity to get our bodies moving. Many of our songs incorporate movement. Ask your child to show you "Wadlee Actcha." I think you'll be impressed.

This movie shows students singing two of our songs--"Exercise and Count by 5s" and the "Vowel Song." Enjoy!
